Outreach Updates

Hey everyone, we are so glad you are here!

Stay updated about where YWAM Heredia teams and schools go on outreach and find out how you can partner with us. We are all different ages, cultures, backgrounds but have been brought together by the will of God to fulfill ONE calling: Share the love and hope of Jesus wherever He calls us.

DTS

The Discipleship Training School is a school built on Christian core values to learn more about God and growing closer in relationship with Him. During this process of learning, experiencing and implementing like how to hear God’s voice, evangelize or find your calling, we are mentored by one on one to ensure that we are properly guided and supported in this process. In order to apply all we have learned from 12 weeks of classes, we go on an outreach for 2 months. Our main focus during this whole time is compassion.

SSD

The school of sustainable development provides the necessary tools for students to help communities identify their needs and sustainably develop environmentally, economically and spiritually.

The school focuses on:

1. Living more sustainably through a correct management of animals such as: cows, horses, pigs, chickens, goats, and fish

2. Making profits through sustainable farming and proper land management

3. Water collection, purification and storage for disease prevention to transform communities

4. Recycling, pollution reduction,  alternative energy sources, and the use of appropriate technologies through locally available resources

Through the learning of each student, development projects will be carried out alongside evangelization.

DTS Students

We are Regina and Luciano with Elena from Switzerland. We are part of YWAM Heredia since Sept 2022 and have been here before in 2021 for the School of Sustainable Development. Our passion is to care for people with spiritual, emotional as well as physical needs through the gospel, counseling or support in practical ways  like agriculture or appropriate technologies.
We are Brian and Stephanie along with our daughter Katie. We are returning to the district of Paquera where we worked last year and where Stephanie worked for several years in the 90s.  We have participated in multiple medical mission trips and now add the tools obtained in the school of sustainable development to our toolbox. We look forward to seeing how the Lord uses their connections to further His kingdom in this part of Costa Rica.

Hey everyone, we are Javon and Ange. We have enjoyed being a part of DTS here in Costa Rica and are excited for what direction the Lord will guide us next. Our main goal for life is to live how Jesus did by having a genuine relationship with God and those he places around us. We love to travel, hike, play games, worship, and serve others.

DTS Staff

Bless up! Hi everyone we are Aziki and Trish and we are from the beautiful, sunny island of Jamaica. We have been here at YWAM Heredia since March 2021 after doing Crossroads DTS in California. Its a joy for me to be able to lead this year’s January 2023 Compassion DTS.
I am Yeimy Francela Camareno S. I am 32 years old from Guanacaste, Costa Rica. I have a deep missionary spirituality.  I have taken various bible studies and missions related courses and have a degree in cross-cultural and global missions, I am also a bachelor’s student in contextual ministry.  I feel sent, as Jesus was sent by the Father. I have done two missionary schools with YWAM.  As SSD and DTS Staff I want to develop, grow and learn in the cross-cultural mission field.  It is very important to learn to be a qualified leader in order to exercise God’s mandate on the Great Commission!

I’m Benji, from the UK and I love to explore the majestical physical landscapes that make up the wonders of this world alongside the rich tapestry of knowledge that is available to observe, absorb, and finally radiate in an aim to leave this world a better place.
My name is Jackson Pullen, I am 19 years old. I live on Hatteras island which is about 30 miles from North Carolina’s coast. I just feel that God really wants me to be here. I do know that I love helping people in any way I can and I love learning.
